On Wednesday Grace and I had to go to the DMV to get a new title for a vehicle that we are selling. Grace was such a good little girl! The drive to the DMV was a little long…we always go to the one in Wampsville, which is a good 1/2 hr drive from our house, but it's always really quiet and fast to get in and get out.
Later that afternoon we stayed in and played with Grace's play mat and her toy that my friend Allie got her! It has a little mirror on it, and she loves looking at it and hitting it with her hand.
Wednesday night Grace got her first taste of formula :( My supply has been dropping a bit…it may be due to monthly womanly issues, but hasn't been enough to feed Grace, and after about 2 days of pulling from my freezer stash of milk, I went out and got some formula. I didn't feel good about it feeding it to her--the very first line on the back of the container reads "Breast milk is best for babies" in bold print. Gosh, talk about kicking me when I'm down! She had two bottles of 50/50 breast milk/formula and took it no problem. She didn't seem to have any tummy issues later on too, which made me feel better about it. She's still getting 90% breast milk, and now that it's been about 24 hours since feeding it to her, I've warmed up to the idea of supplementing with formula. It's actually nice to know that I have something to fall back on if she's really hungry and I simply don't have a lot of breast milk ready for her. And as Eric pointed out, "You gave her a great head start with the first 2.5 months of 100% breast milk". Such a good husband :)

You ARE awesome! Don't beat yourself up about the formula. :) I give you so much credit for everything you did to keep giving Grace breast milk. I would have thrown in the towel. You rock. Don't forget that. :)
