February 4, 2014 - Sleeping Update

Well, the time has come to give up Grace's beloved swaddle.  She used to sleep through the entire night for the most part, but recently she's been waking up 2 times a night because she's managed to squeak out her one arm from her shrink-wrapped double swaddle.  Once it gets out she's wide awake and needs to be fed and re-wrapped before she can go back to sleep.  It's like she loves to be swaddled, but she doesn't really like it at the same time.

Last night we tried un-swaddling her arms and it went amazingly well. She only woke up twice, which is no different than what's been going on around here.  She's been sleeping on her tummy or on her side.  Today at daycare she took a nap unswaddled too!  Tonight is still a work in progress, but we'll see how it goes.

Our toy blocks are always in style here at the Aaserud household.  We love hitting them together and building towers to knock down.  Grace always closes her eyes when she knocks them over--it's like she's waiting for them to make a noise as they hit the floor.
